NOLA

We went to New Orleans the other weekend for a Saints playoff game and stayed with the Barnes'. The Wadlingtons came too. All the guys went to the game Saturday night while the ladies stayed with the kiddos. It was a full house and we had a great time. Here are some pictures of the kiddos:

Dental Hygiene

Every night after her bath, I brush Avery's teeth. She has 6 cute little teeth and I try really hard to keep them clean. No daughter of mine will have poor dental hygiene. These pictures sum up our nightly routine pretty well.

First I try and show her how FUN it is to brush.

 Then I sing a lovely sprout channel song about brushing your teeth....she seems interested......I am able to get those 2 bottom teeth...

 she giggles when she sees me or Daddy brushing our teeth so I always try and pretend like I am doing it., she never buys it though

 ok, now for the dreaded top teeth........

 I try and reason with her. I explain if we don't brush them she will have skanky teeth (is it too early to use the word skanky with her???) Either way, look at that face, she is officially ticked off now.

 I use the towel to help me hold her arms down and prevent her from grabbing the toothbrush from me

When I am finished I give her the toothbrush to play with (she just gums at it). She immediately starts smiling again. All she wants is to get her hands on that toothbrush so SHE can play with it, not me. I am pretty certain she smirks at me everytime I finish and give it to her, as if she thinks she won the fight because she got the toothbrush in the end. Sigh. The girl has attitude, but at least she has clean teeth too.

Avery's First Christmas 2011

 Our first Santa visit went ok. She just looked around at everything with wonder and we were able to get a nonscreaming picture. I got confident and thought I could take her to see Santa again and get some pictures with my own camera.......NOPE! Mrs. Claus tried really hard to get her to sit her lap but Avery was having NONE of it.

Grandpa's birthday was November 29th - while we were celebrating Thanksgiving and his birthday he would put an ice cube in his mouth and Avery would try and chomp on it....

What an angel....

Avery has been walking around the house with her Book of Psalms lately. It is one of her favorite "toys". It makes me giggle. What a little angel.
